Heritage, Legacy and the Love for Lourdes High School Runs Deep for Adamson Family

When the new Lourdes High School opens, Bill (LHS ‘51), and Carrie Adamson’s hearts will be filled with pride as they celebrate the fourth generation of Adamsons that will attend Lourdes High School.

“Having a Catholic school education has made a difference in my own life and has had a dramatic impact on the lives of our children,” said Bill Adamson. “As our four children went through Rochester Catholic School and in particular Lourdes High School, a very close sense of family and community evolves” reflects Carrie Adamson. “There is such strength in having a faith-based extended family as your children go through school. We are so happy that our children had and our grandchildren will be fortunate enough to have this same experience,” said Carrie.

Carrie and Bill’s children attended St. John the Evangelist School and all graduated from Lourdes High School:

Joe Adamson, LHS ‘83 has just returned home after serving in leadership roles with the U.S. Navy. Joe and his wife Sandy have three preschool-age children.

Mike Adamson, LHS ‘84 is vice president of Adamson Motors, Lincoln Mercury Division. Mike and his wife Maria have three children, William 8th grade and Mallory 7th grade and Westin 4th grade all at St. Francis of Assisi School. This summer, Mike had the opportunity to attend his twenty-five year class reunion and had the opportunity to reflect upon the RCS and Lourdes High School experience. “What struck me was the overwhelming sense of how well everyone has done and how well-balanced their lives were with family priorities, success in their chosen professions and a connectedness with their communities and faith, “ said Mike. “Having a Catholic school education foundationally prepares you to develop and cultivate life priorities,” said Mike.

Michon Adamson Schaefer, LHS ‘86 and her husband, Jeff Schaefer have four children: Jacob, 8th grade, John 6th grade, Ryan 4th grade and Riley 2nd grade all at St. Francis of Assisi.

Pat Adamson, LHS ‘88 is Vice President of Adamson Motors, fixed operations. Pat and his wife Trisha have three children Nicholas, 2nd grade, Oliver 1st grade and Caroline entering Kindergarten all at Holy Spirit. “Receiving a Catholic school education was foundational and successfully prepared me for college and beyond. Building a new Lourdes High School is critical for the future of Catholic education in Rochester,” concludes Pat.

The Adamson family is committed to the Lourdes Building Our Future campaign and extend a challenge to all past parents and alumni to participate in the building of the new school.

“In appreciation for all that we’ve been given by receiving a Catholic school education, the time is now to become a part of building a new Lourdes High School. Everyone needs to pledge or donate what ever they can to preserve and secure the future of Rochester Catholic Schools,” concludes Bill.
